My role as a painter is to accumulate portraits not only of people, but of any component of my world that inspires me. I see aesthetic elements such as texture, color, light and spontaneous arrangement as character traits I am compelled to record within my paintings. I have come to realize that this compulsion is due to my self-reflexive nature. By producing and accumulating paintings, I am building a cumulative self-portrait, an embodiment of my aura.
